Fish Tank

I got a 30 gallon last Christmas (07) and have one of those alge eaters, three silver mollys, two dannos and about 3 other small assorted small fish.

Pretty easy to take care of and I don't even really clean it I just wait until the water goes down like 4-5" then fill that ***** up and it's good to go for another month.

Fish tank forums is a very good forum but be pre-warned fish are serious business overthere and they start getting all scientific and shit it starts to become a bit much so I just toss what I want in there and call it a day unless you are really into learning about fish and shit.

I have mine mostly for the cats, they can sit and **** with the fish and try and catch them day after day and don't realize they are never going to get em'

sorry to kinda thread jack, but say i have had a salt water aquarium sitting (Stored away) for about five years no with no water in it. Is it still good to use? Like i mean is the silicon still good or is their a way to replace it? or is it just fine?

should be ok. fill it up and look for leaks.

any of those craigslist ads seem fine.

it's pretty easy to get a nice setup if you're just starting..

tank

big filter

submersible heater

air pump + air rock

natural colored gravel

rocks, plenty of plants

barbs

profit

after you can take care of some easier fish for a while if you do well with those barbs you may want to look into some clown loaches.... they are fun however can be hard to care for if you have ich problems. They also happen to live hundreds of years so be prepaired to have them for a while. They are awesome fish tho... One of the more active and fun to watch...

x2. just fill it up outside just incase lol

i had a buddy that had a 100+ gallon tank, bought brand new from a fish store. brought it home, filled it up, about 10 minutes later one of the seals broke and 100 gallons of water ended up all over the basement.

Might want to use some bleach.... dont use any other soaps unless designed for fish tanks cause they all leave some behind. Bleach however if you cant smell it anymore is gone... Quite safe to use.
