First Subwoofer

I feel like my system is lacking bass so I was going to get a subwoofer. I can only fit a 10" in the space of my trunk that I would want to put a sub, otherwise I would get a 12". I was wondering if this combo would work:

Subwoofer

Box

Amplifier

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sub and amp are good, box is garbage. Build a custom box or get one built. Don't ever get a prefab box. Gonna need to get a 2 ohm sub also, not 4 ohm. Wire the 2 ohm sub up to 4 ohm like this http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurationsm.asp?Q=1&I=22#results

There is noth wrong with it since it depends on how you like your bass.

A sealed box (no port/holes) is not gonna hit harder or louder then a ported box. If you like normal just booming bass that box should be fine (me answering without looking at factory sub's box recomendations on sizes)

ok, the sa e series is ok, better can be had... i recommend obsidian audio v2 or v3 10, close to same price 10x's better sub...

the box even though its not custom, 3/4mdf on sides and 1"mdf on face is a good box... but if you go with prefab you must find one that the subs recommendations can be placed into... the amp im not a fan of that series... if i go mb quarts its usually the discus.... id buy a used old school amp like kx/zx kicker or fosgate.. can be had used way cheaper than that mb quart and will out perform it... if you must go new id go ppi black ice, or ab vfl hybrid 1880.. the 1880 can be had for around same price as mb quart and it does rated of 900w @ 1ohm... always go ported sealed is alright but its a totally different world with ported! and isnt just for bassheads my dad has a complete sq system and runs ported and it is a beautiful setup!

cuz you gotta buy the sub to match the box specs...

If the amplifier is gonna be strictly for subwoofer duties, I would be looking for a class D monoblock amp for better efficiency.
