I've done extensive research and have read many things and /think/ everything I plan to do is making sense. But, when in doubt, always ask.
I have an 06 Acura TSX MT, w/ nav. I plan to keep the stock HU, as it's merely impossible to replace and I like the stock look. This car has a stock amplifier and 3 different sets of stock speakers. Tweeters on the dash, 6.5 in front doors, 6.5 in the back doors and 6x9 in the rear deck.
After many considerations, and suggestions I went with the JBL gto 5ez amp. I got it for a good price on sonic electronix, and the main selling point was they gave a free 4 channel amp wiring kit. Free talks.
Since my stock hu doesn't have rca outputs, I'm going to use the audio control three.1 that accepts speaker level input. I don't want to cut the factory harness by no means, so I'm going to buy a reverse wiring (male) harness, and the female one, and wiring them together besides the speaker wires, and get the signal from there. That way it will still get power, I'll be getting signlal and nothing is cut.
Is the stock alternator going to sustain the amp? Should I do the big three upgrade immediately?
I'm going to give way with the 6x9 and buy a set of components for the front doors and a set of coaxial for the rear.
As for a sub, I'm thinking about a 10" w6 or w7.. Whenever i can find one at decent used price.
I'm mainly posting this to get some expeirinced advice. So, if, anyone does read this and thinks "why are you doing this" "you should be doing this" etc, comment and let me know. And suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
