Alright well i got my first setup like 6 months ago, got it installed in my truck and for a couple months, all was good. About a month ago, i had everything switched over to my car, and once again everything went good until i turned up the volume ahahah. now everything works fine but at slightly over half volume my whole system shuts down, the head unit turns off and restarts but the light on the amp stays on. this only happens once i reach a certain volume, which seems to be 20/35, and occasionally i can get above that sometimes. does anyone have any idea what this could be, its really killing me because the whole reason i got this system was to enjoy my music at high volumes and i cant!

heres my setup if it helps any

do you have any after market door speaker's? sounds like there is a grounded terminal.. or a bad connection somewhere..

ya i also have jbl speakers all round, didnt think that really mattered, i was thinking it was something along the lines of a lack of power, i mean its just a sunfire so mabey the really shitty stock alt and an old battery?

well i dont think it's ur amp.. cause the amp would either, shut down, pop a fuse, or go into protect..

disconnect the rca's from the sub amp turn it up. if it still turns of the headunit. then you have a wireing issue with the headunit..

ok so i unplugged the RCA's and cranked the volume and the head unit doesnt shut down, so im back to where i started believeing that its just drawing to much power at high volumes.

when i installed my first setup and connected my door speakers i just connected the terminals and tucked em back into my doors. well i didnt cover the metal terminals with anything(such as electrical tape) so every now and then they would rub the door and do exactly what you are describing.

so what seth said maybe you are grounding out somewhere.
