First ever legailized drag races on city streets..

god this brings me back. my friends and i used to come across the bridge from superior in the late 90's and watch the drags on garfield. always had a huge turnout from the local cc's. and the 4 wide bike races were sick. thanks for the nostalgia.

Nice!! I hope more places do this.. It helps the economy ( local ) and is a great time .. WE had 3000 ppl in the spectator area , possibly more, but they stopped selling at 3000, and over 20 drivers were turned away because the cutoff was 100.. But all it takes is one slip up or accident, and the city will never let something like this happen again.. Which is sad, and lucky considering in the 5 years weve had this show there has not been one accident, and the racing surface is concrete with water grooves

Heck yea man, When I was in HS in the late 90s it was always fun to watch.. I had a 96 grand am and there was always someone there even for that to race lol.. And the nice thing about Garfield is that the cops always knew what was going on , and really never gave anyone any crap.. Even when they would see a line of muscle cars leaving Canal Park and heading down railroad ST to Garfield.. Ahhh the good ol days
