First component install, 3 Q's about the crossovers.

All the questions come from the installation page here. Just things I didn't understand. This is my first time ever installing components, and messing with/installing crossovers. They're kind of confusing. These components:

1. Tweeter Attenuation

Is this just the volume of the tweeters? Putting it on -2 or -4 db will make them a little quieter or what? We weren't sure, so I left it on -2db which is where it was when I took it out of the box.

2.

What is the difference between single input & bi-amp? We just wired them as shown in single input. Also, with this set up, it shows the wire coming from the amp going into the tweeter section of the crossover on one, and into the 6.5 section on the other? Is that right, or should they both go into the tweeter section?

3.

Didn't understand this one either. We figured the 6.5's are down in the door panel closer to our feet, so it was off-axis and set it at SQ2. Is that right? And what's the purpos of this feature?

1. set the attenuation to whatever sounds best, if set to 0 the tweets are too loud, set it to -2 or -4 etc etc

2. bi wiring is using seperate input wires for the mids and tweets. bi amp does the same but uses 2 amps, one for mids, one for highs. just feed your inputs into the xovers inputs and out thru the mid and tweet shown in Single Input

3. use woofer off axis

You could of just asked this question in your first post.

I'll try and help you out again.

Yes, lowering the dB from 0 to -2 or -4 will make them a lil quieter. From my understanding, they are there so you can have more freedom in placement options without worrying about it being to harsh.

If they are mounted near the floor in kick panels. You may want them on 0, but if you decide to mount them in the top of the door panel near your ear, you may want to put it on -2 or -4.

Question 2. Either one of those setups will work.

It appears that those are two separate crossovers that can be joined together to for one big crossover. If you look closely in the first pic, you will see two little wires that bridge the two crossovers. This will allow you to use on set of positive and negative leads to power your speakers.

The second pic just shows the tweeter crossover being spliced into the wires that go into the mid range crossover. I think this is just a way to give you more mounting options.
