First Car Audio Setup

I was telling everyone what I was purchasing before I got it, no one said anything....But yea, in the future...I don't know what kinda sub I'm going to get, recommendations? ... probably one already in a box from online

Didn't know it was 'too powerful' ... But it should still function good right?

But I wanna have this hooked up before I get a sub....
Just set the gains right and you'll be fine. Just gives you more head room to upgrade later.

What kind of subs were you looking at? How many watts you want to run?

Yea, I have a wiring harness thats coming with the HU i purchased from crutchfield....thats why I said the HU should be nothing.....
But the speakers, pfft.......So I would cut behind the white connector or harness and remove that? then? The only harness I would have is for the HU , no connectors for the speakers....so I guess I would have to join them?

The car factory wires

The speaker wires

Now how would I get that on
female spade terminals are your friend

thanks for the name dave... i was thinking spade terminals, but my mind went blank, lol

I'd recommend TC if you're going for Sound Quality.

Also, Sundown, Skar, DC, SSA, lots of good options out there!

and not many good setups have a built in amp, I'd recommend bridging two of the channels to the sub and move the door speakers to the other channels so there's two on each channel.

And if you feel like it, leave some room on the wire clips and just cut and connect the wires that came with the polks :p make sure you do pos to pos and neg to neg otherwise the speakers move the wrong way

i would just do nothing with the factory speaker wire, you are going to run new wire to the amp anyways. keep the factory connection in case you want to put the factory speakers back in.

ah ok, rite...So i'll just leave them there hanging behind the speaker.....

The manual shows me the amp, woofer, and the tweeter would all go into the crossover...... I'll search around and watch some videos and figure how to properly hook it up though...

appreciate the help ppl

Ok...lemme bug yall 1 mo' time.......

I got the wiring to the speakers, now can one of yall tell me how would I connect this to the crossover below....

the wire goes like this ,

2 female spade terminals into back of speakers

2 silver thinggies coming out of wires..

There should be a way you connect these, says you won't need nothing else to connect the component system....

I mean it is simple connect the positive for the tweet to the positive on tweet on the crossover and same would apply to the negative and the mids. The input would be from ur amp so positive to positive and neg to neg. Also, like said above leave the factory speaker wire alone and just run some 16awg speaker wire into the door and back to where your amp will be.

P.S good choice on ur amp. I love mine other then the plastic but as far as performance it's great and has some power for sure.

16 Awg speaker wire? so i'm gonna need to purchase something else? **** man....

I had the 4 guage amp wiring kit coming, I thought that would be all the wiring I would need....I couldn't use that?

*confused*

i just pm'd you. if you got the Knu kit that was linked earlier in the thread, it comes with 10ft of 16 gauge speaker wire IIRC. you're gonna need more help with that install than you think. Nissan, trust me.

Slow down turbo. You're doing pretty well, but stop for a day and read around the forums before you go any further. All of your questions have been answered 10,000 times. Set aside some money for sound deadener too. I'd put the factory speakers back in for now and worry about getting the head unit in and amp installed first (you don't need to hook the amp up yet). See how it sounds. Get that little bit of wiring under your belt. Save up for a month or so to pick up the deadener and speaker wire. Get your components in now. Drive around with that for a month and get used to it. Then worry about a sub later. Your amp is pretty decent. You can run a single 10 or 12 off the rear channels bridged and you will have a nice little budget set up.
