this is my first setup, so any suggestions will be considered. It is for a 94-01 acura integra if that matters. I'm also on a tight budget so here it is:

Stock headunit

Stock rear speakers

Pioneer TS-A1680R Coaxial in front

12" Alpine Type E or 12" Infinity (1000w+)

Then im sorta iffy on the amp...

i heard that orion is good for amps, and that factory refurbished is just as good if not better than new... i'm really confused on the whole 4 channel thing and whatnot. shoudl i look for a 4 channel bridgeable amp then use 2 channels to power the front speakers and the other 2 to power the sub and have the stock headunit power the rear speakers? or should i get a mono amp for the subs then another 2 channel for the fronts? i read the article on clipping and i still dont really know what that means either. help is greatly appreciated.

i chose the alpine type e or infinity because im not too concerned with the bass being heard from a block away... a few cars away is good enuf //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif i dont wanna lose my hearing.

hopefully as you can tell i have done some homework but i still dont understand.

Get a cheap aftermarket HU. Something from Pioneer, Jense, Alpine. One of their entry level units. Since its an integra and probably no one will sit in back leave the rear speakers stock(like you said). The door speakers I would reccomend either a really high quality coax speaker or a mid grade comp set. I know most will say get the alpine sub but in this type of situation I would go with the Infinity sub. Either run two 2-channel amps or if you want to power the stock speakers a lil get a small 4-channel amp and then get either a mono block or 2-channel amp.

If you are going to look into Orion amps I would reccomend either a Orion 300D or 600D depending on budget.

I can hook you up with a jvc hu and a set up ma audio 12's that will work great on a orion 600d (that is what they were ran on as well) for a great price just to clear some stuff out. Pm me for more details.

what woudl be a good speaker to get? and why do you say that most will say alpine instead of the infinity? thanks again for all your help

Most people just prefer the Alpine sub lineup over the Infinity line. But when it comes to entry level stuff the Infinity subs are hard to beat.

I'll look up a few speakers for ya after I get what budget you got

well i was planning that my rents could get me those speakers i listed for my bday cuz thats coming up soon.. but i dont wanna get something that expensive cuz then i dont think theyd b too happy about that...

i wanted to spend no more than 300 but it looks liek that wont work out... so if that doesnt work out then i guess maybe like 400. and i know for sure i only want 1 12" sub. thats all the bass i need. i wanted to keep the stock head unit cuz i have a 6 cd changer :/

thanks to everyone for helpin me out... how do i get the aftermarket hu to work with my cd changer? i was told it doesnt work if i get a hu!!!!

how is this deal?

New Kenwood CD/Mp3 player - $80

model: kdc-mp228

he got a dvd hu for christmas so he no longer needs it, its from a local private seller

i also have 2 stock tweeters in front if that makes any difference
