first box = success??!?

hey fellas, i built my first ported box.

about 4 cubes tuned to 36ish hz, with 2 memphis 12''s on an arc audio amp.

i just hooked everything up to see how it sounds, because i had my doubts......

im impressed, it slams and it still has good SQ.

I think that my one sub is blown though. the one on the left for some reason makes a weird rattling noise like somthing is damaged, and it's old so its not worth replacing.

i was thinking of going to a local shop and getting 2 memphis PR 12''s.....

thoughts/comments?

not personally a fan of the high tuning....but a pair of sound splinters would be nice....or maybe a pair of powerbass extremes....same as memphsis, different name...right?

how can i smooth the vinyl around the edges to make it look nice?

i am quite drunken but what I would belve is to use a nozzel from like wd40 and try to shoot some glue (super 77) and use a roller to reduce wrincleklyes around sub n port

im not an expert at doing vinyl but have done it before.

here is how i do it.

you have to do one side of the enclosure at a time.

spray both the one side of the enclosure and the vinyl with the glue,

wait for the glue to get tacky or start to dry.

then pull on the vinyl and start runing your hand on the vinyl as you lay it on the enclosure. that way you dont get the bubles and it wont come off. like yours is.

repeat the steps on each side but now you have the edges to worry about so pull hard enough to get the excces vinyl of off the edge but dont use too much force to were you stretch the vinyl in a wiered way.

once you get to the other side of the box where you started the vinyl staple the two ends, start point with the end point.

i sugest you redo that enclosure vinyl.

a plastic bondo scraper, or something close, and a razor to make tiny slits to get out the bubbles. one side at a time. take your time.
