This is gonna be my first sound system and I finally was able to cut up my mdf and build my sub box. I used a plan from here for a slot ported box at 4.4 cubic feet for 2 12" Type-R's. They'll be getting power from a MRP-M1000, not the best amp ever but it oughta do ok. Hopefully tomorrow I can get it set up in my 4runner and have some more pics.

Looks pretty good from what I see for it only being your first box build. That box will be fine for the power you plan on running threw it, however when you start to want more power and get a bigger amp you may want to double up your face where subs will be mounted and throw in some dowel rods to minimize the box flexing and increase flow and strength while reducing port noise. Always factor in xmax of sub for port when designing the box, for you can still set your tune at whatever you would like while sub and box work together. You subsonic filter should be set within 5 Hz of what box is tuned to, for example, my box is tuned to 39.5 Hz while my subsonic filter is set at 35 Hz. You peak frequency should range in between subsonic setting and frequency of box, for example, my peak frequency is 37 Hz. Peak will vary with so may variables like peak frequency of vehicle, subsonic filter setting, frequency of box, etc... Anyway great job on your first box build, for it looks great! Good luck on finishing the build!

yeah the subs are 2 ohm dvc so itll be running at 2 ohms. and i used brads along with glue to keep it together, it feels solid be i guess ill find out how well i did a little later. just finished painting today, waiting for it to dry so i can finish up. heres some pics of the box now. i went with a metallic black hammered paint, i think it turned out great!

In order to answer your question, I would need to know what model (e.g. SW4200, SW7524DVC). Also, are you looking to make a ported box or sealed?
