no, itll change your acoustics of the sub. firing to the trunk can creat a basstrap, and increase response. Where as directly at you it may sound different. i rotated mine in my hatchback to port and sub facing trunk to upwards, and it sounds better, but decreased output.

Hey i have a dodge charger and i have 4-12" spl subs vented into the car, and yeah im having issues with it. It hits hard but the sound isnt getting up to the front of the car like it should

it sounds like your having cancellation issues

From my understanding if you do this, you will not hear all the sounds that you would facing rear.

That's a pretty broad & general statement. Not true in the least bit as it changes with every variable and vehicle.

Yes it is but in general if not done right it will more than likely sound better with port facing rear

yea some cars sound horrible with subs facing forward and some sound great. i think also the subs efficiency may make some difference.

Isn't the key concept here corner loading? If you fire the subs into the car you should seal them off from the trunk completely.

i remember trying facing forward once back in about 199fo and it didnt sound as good but didnt actually seal them off....just turned the boxers around and pushed them forward as far as possible....but if i opened the trunk it sounded great.
