Firefox not playing videos?

When I try and play anything in firefox it stops 2 seconds into the video, every time, at 2 seconds. Also there is no sound to the 2 seconds...

I didn't change anything.

Suggestions? Probably just reinstall

does firefox then crash afterwards?

If it does I have the same problem, I can't play anything in quicktime format on firefox, most of my online lab assignments happen to be in quicktime as well. Internet Explorer has no problems with quicktime. Dunno if reinstall will help cuz this problem followed me from my last computer to my new one.
