how does it compare to your TCAB boxes? i had you quote my like 225shipped for a TCAB and i olny spent about 100 or so, did i do good? i also have the satisfaction of saying its mine-- TERRYCAB

it really doesn't compare, lol.
Its not too bad though, and ya did build it yourself.
You definitely get alot out of a TCAB box, both in performance and now they use baltic birch, which, the wood alone is almost 100, owch lol. Its stronger, lighter, and more water resistant, holds screws better... and looks nicer... so I can't complain.

That being said it would be a little more now with the new wood, I don't know exactly what you asked for in the quote - but it would be more along the lines of $245 + ship. Your not too far though, coulda came and picked up.
I'm still looking for the best supplier on the wood, so the cost pretty much depends on that.

im not about to say my box is better because of your experience and whatever, but i think i did okay, and now i know how to make my next box even better!!!
and plus, i dont have that much for a box, and if i did i would just get a louder sub!

Your really ont gonna swap subs and get something considerably louder than the SX, as long as it handles the power your fine. I'd say focus on making the box do what you want it to do, the woofer isn't as important.
And, matteson is a south burb of chicago, like tommy said.

yea in the pics its looks like its like an inch away, but is almost 5", i though about that and it worked out well

you can make aero's relatively tight on the back wall, btw, works just as well. You go .25" too far and you reall start losing performance.
2" is about as close as you can go, and thats really pushing it.

well i was thinking about getting a havoc or a Audioque HD because i heard that either would be louder and have Better SQ, and i dont really feel like building another box, right now anyways, and also i think i would be able to get some good money would of my SX15 because of the rise in price--more people would pay more because they cant get it from RE as cheap anymore.
