Finally got my RE8 hooked-up!

Oh yeah guys I for got to mention this.. When I turn the frequency from 50hz up the bass starts to get louder and its loudest at 250hz of frequency. Does that sound right or is the amp retarded?

That doesn't sound right...250Hz is midbass, and your substage shouldn't be playing anything above 80-100Hz.

Seriously, I would measure the voltage on your amp's speaker terminals, figure out how much power you're actually sending it before you blow it.

That box is too big for that thing 1cuft!! That thing has to be atleast .3-.5cuft sealed.

Dual VC has nothing to do with excursion.

It is past it's excursion limits.

You need to turn down the Low pass below 100hz.

You are clipping the amp with the gain and boost that hi. Re set your gain with a DMM refer to the gain setting tutorial.

Build a box no bigger than .75ft^3 ported.

You are expecting too much from that 8" speaker. Trust me I have 2 of them. There great but you are abusing them.

These are just the facts and if you do not adhere to them, you will eventually blow something. We are just trying to help. It's up to you to do it or not.

D = 13"

so 12.25x12.25x13=1.1289424189814814814814814814815

So you guys think its too big?. Will it sound louder in a smaller box?

Yes if those are internal dimmensions that box is to big.

.24-.5 sealed

.3-.75 ported

Try to stay within these sizes.
