GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.....
Quick question. How does the gain setting on your amp lower the output power to 1k.??actually I was hoping for 140 but I think if I tuned a bit higher I could get it.
Orion puts out 1700 @ 2 but I have the gains down for about 1k right now.
Oh fuck you. I may not hit 150. But I'll be happy with a solid 147-148.I wonder what mine is gonna do haha.
It may not be high, but at least I will sleep comfortably knowing that bdawson will never hit 150....
Gains can be used to limit amplifier output, assuming your gains have downward adjustment available. Its quite common to use gains to level match speakers when blending a fully active system together, for example.
It's still not limiting the amplifiers output. It's for matching the input from the head unit. It does NOT stop the amp from putting out its potential. Lowering a gain only means you have to turn up the volume louder to reach the amp's full potential. Which is counter productive as turning MOST head units up to full volume will clip the preouts and send a clipped signal to the amps. But whatever, I was off topic anyway.Gains can be used to limit amplifier output, assuming your gains have downward adjustment available.
