i thought it will fullfill my needs : just needed more bass on musics like metal, pop, and some dance songs.

no i dont need my car to be vibrating like crazy... maybe once or twice in a month.

hopefully i got what i needed. i was gonna get 10" from polk audio but this thing popped up in my radar and i went for it.

now i have to get a amp that goes with it.

im guessing i need about 250W~300W at 2 ohm amp.

i mistakenly bought boss amp about 3 months ago, which i tried to resell but still stuck in my closet.

after reading and posting question in this forum, i basically bought a garbage..

now i wanna get it right.

what do you guys recommend me to get?

first wattage,

second brand?,

third i will just take recommended products.

here are some i found.

1. Kicker - 250W Class AB Mono Amplifier

Model: DX2501

2.

Kicker - CX Series 300W Class D Mono Amplifier with Variable Low-Pass Crossover

Model: 12CX3001

anything else??

thank you and god bless you

Well im not familiar with the polk DXI108 subs so im not sure how good they are, but, the first thing we need to know is a budget.
i like to put under 100... i may have to get used ones.. if it exceeds too much

Kicker 250W Class AB Mono Amplifier DX2501 - Best Buyhow about this?? so i can bridge with monoamp and single voice coil?
That would work too. In a big market like Dallas you should be able to find something for 50-60 bucks off CL to run that little sub. What I meant by the single 4 ohm is it's easy to bridge a 2 channel amp and get a final 4 ohm load. But your sub is a single 2 ohm. And most 2 channel amps bridged aren't stable at 2 ohm bridged. So... to sum it up you need a very small monoblock that does around 200-300 @ 2 ohm or get a bigger 2 channel and run it off ONE of the channels.

You don't bridge a mono amp. There's nothing to bridge.

At 180w rms I would keep your target power in the 200-250w range. At 300 you're 70% over what the sub can safely handle.

Your el-cheapo boss amp probably would work fine in terms of power, but the quality is just so low they often cause problems.

So - some possibilities:

Rockford Fosgate R250X.1 (R250X1) 250W Mono Class AB Prime Amp

JL Audio JX250/1 (JX2501) 250W RMS, 1-Chan Class A/B JX Amplifier

honestly i would stay away from a/b if you can im running an a/b amp in my car atm and its so inefficient its crazy (though im pushing 900 watts but still) for a sub id try to go monoblock class d
