FINALLY! An answer to the RE price hikes....

I should become a canadian dealer. I've ran very successful online buisnesses for other people I can do my own.

Canadians have a hard time getting highend woofers due to crazy shipping and customs fees...

with canadian dealers it would make things so much more affordable and if I was only able to sell them in my local stereo shop I would barely get one or 2 customers a month it would have to be web based.

Ok...authorized dealer?
Nope.

People are flipping out about an MSRP price.

Someone mentioned the Solo X, and I found it funny that the Solo X has an MSRP of $1400.

Perfect comparison.

Can you find a Kicker dealer and talk him down from $1400? I'd imagine so.

Why don't we wait until some dealers start selling these things...but I guess that would imply logic being used...and we don't do that here, now do we?

ummm...i don't have to talk my local kicker dealer down...18" solo x.$750...BNIB.

but you have a very valid point, one i will back up with the above statement...

RE nor USAmps will really care what the dealer sells the product for, because the dealer has already paid the bill for the product, or will be paying. basiclly, the manufactorer will get paid what it wants in the end and make their money regardless. the dealer has to decide how much profit they want to make, and that's the price they pass on to you.

say the new XXX is $1600 MSRP. chances are the dealer will pay between 6 and 800 dollars for it. now the dealer decides what he wants to charge...so in theory, you could grab one for 7-800 bucks. not bad for a sub who's msrp is 1600...

in the end, they will sell. why? because they have a solid reputation, they have a solid product and some people believe you pay a premium for those things. ala JL Audio.

I have vented about this subject enough. This was done very wrong. Hype and Promotoion is going to have to be kicked into high gear now if they want to sell an unknown product at high prices in a walk in store. Adire and RE have lost me as a customer. I live near Baltimore, one of the major cities in the US, and I don' t know of any Adire or RE dealers in my area. In a way its funny to me because it is becoming easier for me to decide what to choose on my next purchase. With more companies falling off my potential list there is less to choose from.

SoundSplinter and Stereo Integrity and Incriminator Audio is where I will be focusing most of my driver needs.

Solid rep with whom? Us, thats who, the internet DIY crowd. I feel that this move has drasticly hurt business from the people who got them to where they are.

Boo.

Why is everyone *****ing so much about it?

Dont like it, dont buy it. Simple as that, complaining over the internet isnt going to do anything. Just dont buy, that will hurt the business.

There is plenty of other options to go with

well I may be off, but US Amps, is not an 'internet based' manufacture, so they had to swing the new RE branch into the thinking of the USAmps. And it will be a hard swing. Sure, they may loose some customers, and may not. People will rant now, they won't purcahse RE again, only to do so later and not say anything public. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But if you loved the product before, and you praised it to be the best in your eyes, was it really brand loyalty, or the price for what you get? You'll still get good stuff, (guessing products will remain the same), just you will now be paying, what you probably should have, all along.

Guess we'll see if there was really brand loyality from most, or not.

Because if you say "piss on RE " , now and if it changed back in 6 months, and you just back on the bandwagon now that it's 'cheaper', your not loyal, your just a bandwagon jumper...

think about it guys, want good stuff, and your loyal, stay loyal, to whatever brand suits you best.

x2 Not too many people even know about RE, outside of the internet. People buy JL, RF, Alpine, and Kicker because they have heard about these products countless times. Plus there are dealers within driving distance. RE doesnt have that.

whoooa....RE has a very solid rep outside the internet crowd. look into db drag and one of it's biggest names...scottie johnson. last i remeber he was using ma audio and re.....

maybe they don't hav ethe brand name as jl, but everyone knows USAmps...so you can bet your *** that the name re will get known.

but tracy is right, especially with this forum, it's funny to watch a bandwagon get a flat or three. people got a solid product at a discount, and now that they have to pay what they should have been paying....JUMP!! does the price increase lessen the quality? change the sound? nope...

wow, look at me defending re...WTF is up with that??

nobody around me atleast has heard of us amps. i liked RE products but i simply cannot afford them now at there price, even if the dealer price is $600-800. the most i can afford out of my budget is like $300 for a subwoofer, so if i jump ship to a cheaper alternative, does that make me a bandwagoner? also the fact that i would have to drive 3 hours for a chance at a local dealer? not too mention i get better customer service at a mcdonalds

i cant believe, a week ago everyone was loving re. now they make a business decision, to help the business, and some on here are deserting them. so, whos selling out again?

im sure once everything shakes out, it will be fine.

but ****, give them a chance. some of you kids love making a scandal....
