FINALLY! An answer to the RE price hikes....

i just recieved a reply to the email i sent JR about the rediculous prices:

Hello,
I see there is lots of confusion about RE pricing. It is simple. Since last

RE price release, material, especially metal, has gone up by over 38%.

Eventually pricing must go up, but at the moment prices have not gone up to

RE dealers. Moreover, new tooling that allows for higher excursion on new MX

and XXX must be amortized into these new products, making these two series

prices go up.

The only change is that RE audio is not selling direct and they are now

quoting consumer's full retail price on the phone and e-mail and not direct

pricing. Once again, pricing to dealers has not changed! Just like RE would

ship consumer's woofers, so can the RE dealers.

I knew since US Amps got involved they'd focus more on their dealer network....

Wow.................makes sense.

Go thru the dealer,thats what alot of companys do otherwise there would be no need for alot of dealers,you could just call direct and get the same price.Should work out best for the dealers in the long run.

i can see why he would be so pissed off too. i mean something you started from scratch, built a name upon, just gets taken from you...i would be pissed too lol

I think in the email he's implying dealers can ship to consumers now...
