Fill in the blank

I have 45x40 floor space behind my 2nd row. 45" wheel well to well an 40" from back of 2nd row seat to rear gate. I kno I need to be a few inches from rear gate, so I figure 45x34 an I want to go 15" high. So is 45x34x15 rite or is there sum special ratio that needs to be used? I most likely will have my box built, it's jus 3-4 months down the way. An if I can get enough info by then I may make an attempt my self.

big scott's got the right idea. You build the box around the sub - at least it'd be easier to make a match that way. Figure out what subs you want, then figure out how much volume they each need for the type of enclosure you want to build, then build the box. There's no magic ratio, so long as it's not ten feet long by six inches high or something like that you should be good.

you need to pick a sub/s then figure out what size box they ( subs ) need.

2 SoundQubed HDS315's....so how far back from the gate, 6" is enough?

I had a GMC Jimmy and 6" was the magical number for me. best way to find out is trial and error. or shoot for 6" and go from there.

as far as your box dimensions, that is up to the subs and the amount of power to them. for 2 15s, id shoot for 6.5-8cuft if it was me.

I calculate 10cu net (45x32x15).... So smaller box u think? Ima start with a kicker zx1500 @ 2ohm thn with in a few months upgrade to a Q2200d @ .5ohm. After extra battery an HO alt. Am I goin about ths rite?

you have to factor in the port displacement and the subs displacement into your net box size. bigger could be better with the kicker amp, but with the sq2200, you are going to want to be a tad smaller to control the subs better.

I took the overall demo's times .2 an got a solid 10cu....So u wudnt recommend an amp swap with tht size box? Well how bout 8.5 - 9cu?
