It helps to seal the air gaps around the sub and the port. Also smoothes out the edges kind of. Duct tape is a nice cheap way to gain.

so Im bored, and its like 4:38am, so I think it would be cool for me to whip up a pic of my sub set up in my car.
This set up is 3.2db louder than my Mojo 15 quad 1. It is a Digital Designs 9917 dual .5 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I now have duck tape around the sub as well, bringing me up from a 149.1 to a max of 149.3 (which is not seen)

comments? questions? its the first of probably 3 or 4 boxes for that sub, all of course will be louder...

O and duck works. Probably the easiest way to gain the day of the show lol. I went up .6 from duct taping the port and around the subs.
