Whats the best cloth to use for fiberglassing and why?

Now, I have a bunch of old white 100% cotton T-shirts laying around the house that don't fit me anymore. would those work in place of fleece or spandex? or is that a terrible idea?

I've used old t-shirts. They work pretty good, but fleece if you can get it. Not sure about spandex, bought a yard to test it out and haven't gotten to it yet...

Ive had great luck with Lycra. Fleece is hard to get totally saturated but works well. Box carpet works well for forms without a lot of corners. I see no issue with cotton.

different types of fiberglass works better in certain apps.

I'd use cloth for the more flat areas; chopped mat for more complex curves.

To wrap the mold and baffle, I'd choose the fabric depending on the shape. If I can use some thick fleece and get away with it, that'll be what i'll use. But if thick fleece cannot conform to the shape, i'll just use an old t-shirt.

I've never done anything with fiberglass so this will be my first attempt.

So you guys are saying that all I really need is resin and old t-shirts?

I don't actually need to use fiberglass mat stuff?

Is it best to use a combination of things? Like use old t-shirts then put chop mat ontop of that?

anyone have an answer to this?

And I have some fleeces (shirts, not cloth). But they're old and well, old... Like they've lost their fuzzy-ness and are pretty rough. Would this be better than a 100% cotton t shirt?

depends on wat your making....if its for anything other than tweets i would use fleece....if its just for tweet pods or something that doesnt need to be really strong then use the old tshirts.
