fiberglassing door speakers in - build sealed pods or open back in to the door ?

hello all - my viechle ( 1990 chevy suburban ) did not come with any provisons for door speakrs of any kind - so id like to fiberglass in a pair of 6.5 co ax in each door.

cut the mounting rings out already - and started getting ideas on how to mount / glass them in.

my question is this :

is it better to build a completely sealed "pod" for the pair of speakers - or should i allow the rear side of the pod to vent in to inside the door chamber giving them a much larger air space

ill try and attach pix of the doors and the speaker pod going in
