Fiberglass Volume

What do you FG pros find is a good way to measure the approx. volume of your enclosure? I have a half-finished enclosure and want to match the volume to the recommended specs of the Pioneer Premier 3002SPL that it is going to be housing.

Depends on the shape really. Packing peanuts usually, if it's a funky shape. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

okay.. check - will rob the post office of some of those

now do you guys measure a box with a specific volume first and then compare or is there any kind of formula or do you waste a saturday morning and count them one by one aha

Fill the enclosure you built with (your choice of filler here), then when it is full, put it all into an empty cardboard box.

Now you have a width and depth and heigth. Multiply those and divide by 1728 and you have the cuft of the enlosure. Don't forget to subtract for sub displacement.

A little tip:::: if it is ported, tape the end of the port up INSIDE the box.

hmm would it be possible to port my FG enclosure? it's basically going to be nesting right in the corner of the trunk for one 12" but I never thought about porting it.. how difficult could that be?
