today i started working on my install for a 7 inch lcd screen. it will go where my cup holders are. today i just glassed up a mold of the cup holders. i think this will be a pretty easy project. here are some pics of the progress. i will post pics of the actual center console once the resin dries.

when i stretch the fabric over the whole thing, which will be better: grill cloth, old t-shirt, or fleece?

heres an image for those who dont quite understand what i'm doing. the reason i molded the cup holder is so i can tightly fit this mount without screwing into the center console (leased car). it obviously will be less angled then the diagram below displays.

ps, the tv will be on the other side, my bad.

but which of the previously mentioned fabrics will work best? i'm thinking grill cloth or t-shirt; i dont think i need the thickness of fleece.

t-shirt should work pretty well. I used like spandex material for mine though.

Also what kind of finish you going to put on it. I used truck bed liner on mine and it turned out really good. Also means you don't have to screw with the finishing of the paint/

vinyl...nothing too flashy. i want to make it look like it belongs, and IMO, vinyl is most often the best for that.

Yea vinyl will look pretty good. How do you attach it though. Is it like a big sheet of and you stick it on. Also is it strecthy or do you have to sew it like at hard coreners such as you do cloth on seats. I jsut never really messed with it before. Just know how it looks.

it comes it rolls just like carpet. i believe you apply it the same way you would with carpet (3M 77, contact cement). it doesn't strect quite as easily as carpet, but i think i'll get away with just once single seam on the back of it.

i need to choose a good ~7 inch screen now, suggestions anyone? $100-150 is my range.
