Fiberglass help

This isnt about car audio, but its a fiberglass question so I thought I should ask here.

I recently aquired a wing for my car, and when I got it home i found out that the wing is too wide for the trunk lid. It needs to be about 3 inches skinnier. It's made out of some sort of plastic, so i was thinking i could just cut out a section and either glue it or fiberglass it back together. What do you guys think?

in can be done, but fiberglass resin doesn't adhere to plastic unless properly prepped. You can but an abs plastic reepair kit at the same stores that should do the trick.

an abs plastic repair kit. Hm. I never thought of that. but i will check it out. Should be able to pick it up at most auto stores or where would be a good place to find one?

im not sure how the spoiler looks but if its one of the simple spoiler. you can just cut the spoiler on one of the very edges that way you dont have to worry about weakening the spoiler in any way. and you wont need to adhere the spoiler back together just make a cosmetic end cap to make it look stock again. or you can make some sort of flat end that you can screw in to place.

can you post a picture or link us to a picture of a similar spoiler that may help us help you, with ideas.

i did a similar project to a spoiler that i bought for my car, but i had to cut mine right in the middle to make it wider because it was arched so to keep it symmetrical i couldn't cut it on the sides.
