The deal is that im thinking of way too many ideas and i have not one clue to which would be better. The enclosure is going to be fiberglass for sure, but my question is, should i take the extra time to make a ported enclosure or sealed. The subwoofer is a 12" Fi Q and ive read on caraudio/s10forum that guys had awesome results with both sealed and ported. I have no experience with making ported enclosures and im about to do some researching on slots/aero/etc..How would i make a fiberglass enclosure tuned to a frq for the Q? There are plenty of diagrams/pictures for sealed, but i know its more work than just a square box and a port. I don't want people to say, since you have no experience with ported enclosures just stick to sealed. I want the challenge of trying this so please help me out. Is there a computer animated program that i can use to create something for the Q?
Specifications:
Subwoofer-12" Fi Q at Dual 1
Amplifier-Us amps d3
Where the enclosure is going to go-Anywhere, but probably want it inbetween my seats so its pointing towards the dash.
Vehicle-Standard cab 1989 s-10
The seats are from a sunfire so im able to adjust them to how ever i want.
Ive heard firberglass enclosures before and they dont sound as good as Wood or MDF type enclosures. I want to put the sub to its peak performance and have excellent sound. I know im asking for a lot, but there hasn't been a good build log in a while and id like to change that.
Im going to try and draw something up so you can visualize what im trying to do. Any ideas are appreciated on how i can build this. I have the tools and materials to do it.
