talking about my door pods................... lol
some of you already know that i just bought this van for my next install. well i already had a major setback, had to sale off my two ss xxx6500d's to pay an unforseeable bill. well last week i got back to this build. i found a guy on ebay that has tons of nos caraudio that he is liqidateing dirt cheap. so far i bought 10 pairs of 5" mids , 5 pairs of 1" soft dome tweets(flush mounts), and 4 pairs of 5" pro audio high effecint tweets. and i still have more mids and highs to buy from him.
prices were
10 pair 5" mids= $104.00 shipped (tested them and they sound great and have houge mags for a speaker that size)
5 pair 1" soft domes = 50.00 shipped (they sound and look just as good as my alpine 1"s)
4 pair 5" soft dome pro audio tweets = 100.00 shipped ( best sounding tweets i've ever herd! much louder and cleaner than my alpine's)
i will be running 16 5" mids, 2 5" pro tweets, and 2 1" soft dome tweets on each door. on each door, the mids will be wired to a two channel amp and the tweets will be wired to two channels of a four channel highs amp.
i'm hopping to keep the bench seat right behind me so i can have friends ride with me. but as far as placement of mids and highs back their, i don't have many places to choose from. i'm thinking about building pods for the headliner in the shape of a hourseshoe just over the heads of the people sitting on the bench seat. lmk what you think.
O, and the same guy told me he bought all the WMD line of subs. He is willing to work with me on a great deal on subs any size that i want and how many i want. So this puts my plans for 8 mj-18m's up in the air for now.
