Fiberglass Door Pods for 99 Dodge Ram

They are done! In the truck the pods are actually angled slightly up, so that's a plus. With just the component set and the AQ tweets in, it is very loud, and crystal clear. I can hear little aspects of music i've only barely been able to hear before (fingers sliding across guitar strings). I'm amazed at how good they sound, and also by how well the pods turned out. It's a perfect fit with about 1/2" clear from the kick panels and the floor. Still waiting on a reply back to see if my 8's shipped out or not.

I was going to ask why the paint, but I see it matches some things you already did.

Did you just screw it in and then seal it up? Hard to see with the pics. Should sound better then the stock location though.

Yep it's held on by 8 wood screws through the the back of the door panel into the pod. And before i put it on i ran a bead of silicone around the edge, so it's nice and sealed off.

And yeah, i had done my kickpanels with fleck stone a couple years ago and liked how rugged it was, and it goes with the grey in my truck the best. This is my daily driver/work truck so i needed them to be durable and have scuffs not visible. Haha.

I will see if I can get some pics of the truck when I'm ripping it apart this week. It looked great when done, but after a season of demoing at shows in booths it is less then pleasing to look at now.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Even my suede has seen better days.. lol

I hear ya. Even this morning i hit my foot against it twice while getting in and out of the truck, but no scuffs or anything. I know that if i wrapped it in the Carbon Fiber vinyl i did my box in it would look better, but i need it do be durable. Haha.

Be sure to tell e1 thats getting in ur front seats to watch the speakers....... My cousin threw her 2ton leg against my flutes denting the dustcaps.. I was one mad mofo and still am.. I also had to change how I got out my car to make sure I dnt give one of them the foot... Tried some grills but god that looked awful but so does kicked in dustcaps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

I would be livid too. I'm definitely going to tell people to watch their feet. I'm hoping that people have would want to take extra care of getting in the truck with open speakers near their feet, but some just don't care.
