what he is trying to say is that what many people here call a rip off is how some of us make a living. Is a fiberglass enclosure for 4 15s worth 900 in materials hell no. But my time spent building it definately is considering that the majority of the money will go to wherever i work and not me.
trust me i know the labor of building boxes..its my main source of income. but for a consumers point of view, $900 for a box is a ton of money.
yes it is alot of money but say it takes 4 days at 8hrs a day in most shops the shop take 60 pecent of that giving the person building that enclosure 360 before taxes which isnt much for the actual builder

i dont know. i dont appraise work done. if ur coming to me looking for an arguement you wont get one. you know full well that in a perfect world that box does not justify spending $600. im not saying it did. but as long as people will pay, people will build to that price. thats the nature of business. in the eyes of someone who builds can you honestly tell me what $900 for a glass box is a good price? not unless your the shop owner.

yes obviously. if i honestly feel i put $900 of effort into a box then **** right ill be expecting that much. but a lot of shops(especially around here) have people going to them, charging huge fees, and producing sub par work. if ur buying a top notch box then ya expect to pay a good amount. thats mainly what my issue is. people should realize the value of what theyre selling/buying
Theres a few shops here that'll charge 5-600 for a wood box.. and yeah around a grand for fiberglass for a pair of 12s. Lowest i'd ever be able to get a box there for is about 200.. and that'll take a lot of talking. Seen plenty of sub-par boxes sold for 300-400, as its mainly people not looking to compete, so they're never going to know.
