I can't believe no one said anything about your box... WTF? Why don't you flip the box over so the Fi logo isn't upside down and hide some of the retarded shit wrote on the box until you can paint or carpet it.

^ Get out of this thread. There is nothing wrong with anything. The original sealed box didnt have enough output. The amp is on the back of his seat. And I made him a new ported box. Everything works fine. This thread is done.

so the sealed enclosure was the problem? how weak was the output sealed?

It was exactly how it should be sealed. It just wasnt what he expected. He had a 12" Type R ported, and that was tuned high. The SSD sealed wasnt as loud, obviously. But with it ported it has much more low end output than the type r he had could ever dream of.

honeslty. i wouldn't have expected the ssd to be any louder then a R. except for the fact that its a 15"

Congrats on getting it working correctly in the new box tho

expectations ****......glad it got fixed

Something was wired wrong. Had to be out of phase in the sealed box, then you prob wired it correctly in the ported box.

I know a ton of guys who run SSD/Chaos in sealed boxes, and they love sealed. In around 3.25 sealed the 15s just about jump out of the box on 800rms.

Ive seen an assload of SSDs sealed/ported/bandpass/etc. They work pretty well all around. It had to be wired out of phase, or your SSF/LPF/HPF was all messed up.

No dude lol it was fine. It always has been fine, nothing was ever hooked up wrong. It just wasnt what he expected. It gained output in ported, obviously, but mainly in the low end.

Everything has always been fine.

My thoughts exactly. I told him from the get go the SSD is an SQ woofer, so dont expect it to knock your socks off. Then we go with sealed off the start, and it wasnt as loud as his ported type R, so hes like wtf........I told him from the beginning. So, I ported it, and now its much more to his liking.

I would have been happy with it sealed if thats what I was looking for. But it wasnt my install. I just made him the boxes.

Thanks for the concern though gents //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
