Fi wtf?

Yeah the sub is wired fine guys, it measure out on the dmm. The amp is pushing as much power as it can on the electrical but it would definately have more output in a ported box, if it can fit in the car.

It just doesnt have the same amount of output as it would. Its getting the power and gets moving with the gain set with the dmm but I dont think its what we expected.

if i were u i would rewire the sub down to 1 ohm if u can and get lower gauge wire like at least 4 gauge wire running to the sub and get a higher fuse because otherwise u will probably blow the 50 amp fuse if u havnt already.

???????

First of all the sub is d1 ohm so it can only be wired to 2 and .5, secondly, why are you recommending he bring 4awg wire to the subwoofer?

Congratualations, you are a retard. You can't wire a D1 sub to one ohm. I don't think I've ever seen a sub that can accept 4 gauge wire. And if the fuse isn't blown, it isn't affecting the power going to his sub (should still be upgraded, but that's not his issue).

I think it's a combination of the need to break the sub in, the fact that the box is probably too large, and the fact that it's not recommended for a sealed application.

I dont think the sealed enclosure is too large (even though its not recommended)

if you look at the sealed recommendations for the 10" and 12" ssds they are both larger than the sealed recommendations for the 10" and 12" FI Q. Since the Q recommends between 2-2.6 ft^3 i would say his box about the right size.

If the box was too large, it would have problems with bottoming out, not lack of output.
Just cause it measures good on the DMM doesn't mean that it's wired right. The DMM can't tell you phase. If one of the coils is out of phase the output will **** hard.
Trust me, I know how to wire a woofer, everything is set up fine, the woofer works perfectly, this isnt my first time around the block //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I am referring to the read-out on the coils themselves and the reading at the amp. Everything in his setup is hooked up perfectly it just simply doesnt have the output he expected......should have stuck with the type RRRRRRRRRRRR........ With the gain set with the DMM its all perfect. There isnt a single problem, but he was definitely expecting it be more than it is. And whoever has said the SSD isnt recommended for sealed is a moron. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I told him off the bat the SSD is a SQ woofer.

I made another box for it over two weeks ago. I cant remember the specs on it right now but I think it was like 3.5 cube tuned to 32hz with a 6in aero. It gained a lot more output and I think its more of what he was expecting.

if by sexy you mean stereotypical white trash/low income family car that someone decided to make go fast then yes. If you mean sexy as in aesthetically pleasing then NO. Those things looks cheap as hell

I seriosuly couldnt agree more. Those cars look very "entry level" vehicles and nothing more. The fact that is attempts to look sporty is beyond me, let alone put the neon under the srt family.

I know how to as well, doesn't mean that I haven't accidentally effed it up before.
I understand, I wasnt trying to come off like an ***. Everyone can make mistakes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
