and my sub made a big difference after broke in... it barely moved when first hooked up!!
from experience I learned the hard way, i realized the box is as important as anything else, had a fosgate T212d2 with a fosgate T1000.1bd, in a q logic box(that the idiots from crutchfield recommended, I was the same way WTF cause it sounded like shit. After further research I found out that i needed at least 2.5cubic ft. the q logic box had only 1.7. anyways I ended up getting a custom box made and then i was like WTF but this time because it sounded bad ***. Do some research

i don't know where the hell you guys are getting that the ssd is not reccomended for sealed... if anything it should be ran sealed before ported, considering its ebp is 40...

I know its not recommended sealed...it says on the site they didnt like the overall range of the speaker sealed...i realize that a box can make all the difference...but i just couldnt imagine THAT much of a difference. Mike keeps telling me it needs to break in...i keep saying it needs a ported box. Maybe its a little bit of both?

Ported box: 3-4 cuft @ 33Hz
Sub OD: 15.625”
Cut ID: 14.125”
Mounting depth: 8.000”
Displacement: 0.17cuft
NOW....the 10" and 12" give recommended enclosures for sealed...the 12" is Sealed box: .8-1.6 cuft
so for a 15...that box is still pretty big for a 15" sealed

the coils would heat up because they are both getting power, and after a little while it would = Kenny Pollock and smoke it out till it burned up.
if the coil isnt moving it isnt being cooled.

He fit a box for 2 15's ported in there. I'm sure crazy things can be done.

To the OP. did you try just hooking up 1 coil and seeing if it changed anything?
