I think the average person looking for some bump cant tell much of a difference between 1% and 5% distortion on a sub stage, especially with the road noise etc....

I agree with that. But saying "daily driver" makes far too many assumptions about what someone wants...after all, a vehicle that can enter SQ competitions may be what someone wants to listen to every day. Had heard many installs with the w6v2, which is a very nice sounding sub, the W7 isn't that bad, but I had 4 9500's that put up some nice numbers, but the SQ was left to be more desired. Still didn't sound bad, just could have been better......and a lot of could have been my box, who knows. Everything is install dependent IMO.

I have had nothing but bad luck with my Fi Q 12", granted someone else is enjoying it off here and IIRC it is still working. I gave up on it after the 3rd time. I have had 40 dollar subs work longer.......not sound as good, but least it worked and held up.

I've built enclosures for every line of FI sub and a few MTX boxes. I've always been very happy with the SQ of the FI subs, other then the guys who only listen to Jeezy shit as SQ is non existent in that crap.

MTX's got pretty loud, but didn't sound very good, but again the guy only listened to rap, so it didn't matter.

13w7 was in a sealed enclosure and sounded good and got decently loud, but was too much $$$ IMO as I've done plenty of set ups at 1/2 the price that sounded as good and got much louder.

I've had very good luck with AQ/DD subs in higher tuned boxes and a little EQ'ing to tame down the bump for daily listening. I mostly listen to 80's metal, hip hop, R&B, motown, blues, jazz, etc...

I'd worry more about your front stage if having decent SQ is your goal.
