i'm looking for sound quality and loud, shaking the body window flex. all of that. for 300$ i can get dd audio 2500 series or i can get the Fi bl or Q for less with the cooling option for free. so here's my question i've heard some stuff about the tinsel lead breaking on the Fi's any comments or something to send me in the right direction. i know these are both quality subs. also is there really that much of a drop in sound quality as there is in spl between the Q and Bl?

99% of tinsel issues are from abuse. That is with any driver. As for the choice between the BL or Q, it depends on your power available.
alright well i was going to get the crescendo 5800 bc and run it on a .5 ohm load. i have no idea if i want to get the 1ohm or 2ohm voice coils. but i keep hearing go with the bl series. should i get the internal lead on that?

With that much power on a single driver, I would look at something that would handle it. Neither the Q nor the BL fit the bill. I would look into a BTL or even an AA Mayhem.

Both will exceed your budget new. If that number is fixed, I would look for a used 3slug Fi BTL or AA Mayhem.

oh sorry well i figured 4 subs at 1500 rms total would be 6000rms

Ah ok, I read right over the post where you said you wanted to run four. The Q or BL can take 1500 all day. What does your electrical consist of? Get D2's and run that amp @1Ohm. Depending on your electrical and box rise, they will likely never see anywhere near that.

what do you mean D2s? sorry im kind of new to all this and already screwed up my first project so this time i want to do it right. but right now i need to do the big three and i was going to put one or two more batteries in there. and look into a bigger alternator

D2 refers to Dual 2Ohm voice coil configuration. Don't worry about being new. We all started somewhere. The difference between one or two extra batteries can be huge. Especially regarding which batteries you choose. The batteries and alt are a must if you ever want to see anywhere near the rated power from that amp. Consider their power measurements are at 13.8V which the majority of cars will never even come close to. I would spend some time reading before you buy. You are on the right track for a killer system. There are a ton of folks here that can help you and are willing to do so.
