Fi SSD Question

are you sure your idq is wired at 1 and not 4? all the spec sheets i saw for older models said it can be bridged at 4 ohms for 400w
Yea, that's what I saw too. I'm sure I have it wired down to 1, I'll check it tomorrow to make sure. Weird because I'm sure it said it was 400W @ 1Ohm when I first got it.

I must have it wired down to 4 Ohms. heh. I just found my manual, I don't know where I got 1 Ohm from. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

bringing an old thread back because i have a quick question

for those that have a 12" FI SSD you think 600-750rms would be good enough to make this sub move?

my hifonics amp says it does 750 @ 1 ohm but knowing the amp it'll probabl get around 600+....

also is there a way to check my amp to see if its .5 ohm stable?

its a Hifonics TXI7506

In all honesty the difference in output between 600W and the SSD rated RMS of 800W is minimal. But... it becomes an issue if you are trying to squeeze the 800W of output out of the 600W amp... which people tend to do more often than not. If 600W gets you to the desired output level, then you are good. In a ported enclosure... Id be fine with that (but as many on here can tell you, Im not a massive basshead either...lol)

Thanks...

Scott

i know for sure i wont be able to get out anywhere close to 800w with the kind of amp that i got so i definatly wont try, but what i am more concerned about is if 600+ rms watts is going get the SSD to sound good... reason i ask this is because i know some subs wont sound its best unless given it's rated RMS

and im with you as well, im not a major basshead either haha, as long as i can do 600w daily and have the SSD move and sound good ill be happy... and ill probably upgrade the amp in the future since i have more room for power
