Fi SSD Question

Hey everybody,

I was looking at a new 12 to replace my IDQ and ran across the SSD. Will giving the SSD only 400W RMS be sufficient enough, or am I better off getting an RL-P or a different subwoofer?

I think you'd be better off with a different sub. The FI SSD subs like the 800-1000 range.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Do you have any other suggestions other than the RL-P? I hear the RL-P doesn't handle double bass (I listen to a mix of hard rock/rap) to well, so I'm second guessing on buying one. I'm limited to a Dual 2 ohm woofer since I have to wire down to 1ohm on my amp. The sub will be in 2.3ft^3 enclosure tuned to 30Hz.

Yea, I'm running it off the rear channels of a Orion 800.4. :/

EDIT: I think I'm just going to give the RL-P a shot. If it isn't responsive enough in my ported I'll switch to sealed. Thanks for all the help guys.

you sure it doesnt do 400w at 4 ohms? thats what the internet tells me

I'm pretty sure it's 1 Ohm (I can verify if I can find my manual). I'm running my IDQ on there wired down to 1 Ohm and it runs perfectly.
