Fi question: 2 12" SSD's vs 1 15" Q

I've been out of the game for a few years and am looking for an upgrade. I've been reading about the new Fi forum boner and I'm liking the prices they have. I'm interested in 2 12" ssd's with copper coils or 1 15".

I currently have a 15" avalanche sealed and powered by a t1200.1. (it truly is an underrated sub)

1. What will the SQ difference be between 2 12" SSD's sealed and a single 15" Q sealed? Will they sound similar, or will the Q clearly sound better?

2. Which setup will get louder, 2 12" SSD's sealed or a single 15" Q sealed?

3. How low can the SSD's get? (how do they perform to songs like late nite tip)

4. Will 2 12" SSD's or 1 15" Q will be a clear upgrade over the 15" avalanche I have?

I'll be ready to place an order in the next few days. (I would be willing to sell my avalanche locally in SoCal shortly after that)

Thanks for any help.

Don't seal the SSD's. The Q will probably sound better and have more low end (install dependent), but the SSD's will be noticeably louder and still sound pretty darn good.

The SSD's are very capable drivers, however, and have solid low-end performance.

The Q and Ava are very similar; you can expect slight differences between the two, and I would prefer a Q, but the differences will not be night and day. The pair of SSD's will be louder.

Why not ported?
Trunk space is the main reason, I don't think I can fit two 12's ported in my civic trunk.

Then again, how big of a box is required for 2 ported subs?

edit: saw the specs, I guess I can fit a 4.0 ft^3 box in there. I guess I didn't want to spend more money on a box since I already have a dual 12 sealed box sitting around.

I also have a 15" ported box sitting around, but it's been years since I've used it and I have no idea what the tuning is on the box.

Thanks for the info.

So... sealed isn't a good option with these subs?
