Can you solve it?
How much do you want to spend and what is your goal? What size box and how much power are you going to be giving it? What amp?

Im not sure yet ill have about 1,200 or so. I had a blitz 2000d with the MTX's so i was thinking about getting that again but im looking at the infinity 1600 mono block they make. Everyone in my town has MTX because of the local dealer and im getting sick of that you know. And looking for something that is comparable to their quality.

Wow. That is actually a hefty budget.
Are you looking for a sub and an amp? There are WAY better if your going that high in price range. If you hang out with people that also have systems and you want to blow them away, try something different. Sundown, Fi, Stereo Integrity will all be good ones that many people will back on here.

Well the stold everything outta my car so i nead a headunit, cap, subs, amp, and box but thanks ill check them out.

Building from scratch. 1200 will be a little tight. Still can be done though.
Minus the neat little display, caps do almost nothing. Give us an idea of what you like to listen to, what your going for etc etc.
Many of the owners actually visit this site and the prices are good. All kinds of great things you can get setup with.
How much space do you have for your sub box? How many subs and what size do you want?

Well im looking for 2 12's, i really like slot ported boxes but i have a tiny *** car, I drive a hyundai tiburon. Ive heard from alot of people that caps do nothing. But doesnt it relieve some of the stress on your alternator? I also had another question, what the hell does a cross over do?

a cap can create more load on the alternator....it removes the peaks from the signal but is completely discharged on sustained notes

you can still fit plenty of room in a tiburon....I built a box for two cvx 12s, its 4.5cuft box tuned to 33hz I think...they are powered by a kicker 750.1 i think and hit mid 40s. I believe that setup would suite your needs, then we can work on the rest of your system.

Tiburon is a hatch back right? You have lots of room if that is the case
So your looking at a ported box, 2 12's *ponders* Do you want sound quality or just lots of bass?
You are far better off doing the big-3 instead of getting a cap. Read up on the big-3 here and you will see that it is 1. easy and 2. has a huge impact on the electrical system.
