Hello all i'm new, I am in the process of upgrading. Got the first sub and amp going. Heres the thing, I cant stop the thing from bottoming out. I know the amp is too much but is it really that much too much? I was running at 1 ohm. I had the gain at ZERO boost at Zero ssf at 20-30. Seems like this sub should handle this amp with ease.

I had it hooked up to a jl 500/1 and it sounded very close to the soundstream

maybe even more sq.

Since I have hooked it up at 4ohm and I am able to get 75% gain but my ssf is so high I have no low hz. The jl was just rumble this thing.

I dont get it.

The amop is a turantual 2000watts @ 1ohm, 1100@4ohm. The bp upgrade puts subs rms at 1300-1500 watts, underrated i was assuming. Sorry if this is in wrong topic.

if the amp is rated 2000@1 ohm then thta is way to much for the sub. that 1100@4 ohms should be good. and the soundstream tarantula is a AMAZING amp. a guy at a audio shop said that they compared jls best amp to a tarantula and the jl was clipping and overheating it was just no match

I'm pretty sure the SS TRX2000D uses the same board at the PA A3000DB BTW. They usually do 2k, yes.

First things first.

You can safely turn your subsonic filter either off or all the way down. You are running a sealed box so there is not much danger in damaging the woofer without it.

Also what is your LPF set at?

And as mentioned 2000 watts is to much for a Q. They do well in my experience on 500-1200 watts sealed.

His problem is overdriving the speaker.

He's only turning the SSF up to compensate for the gain in power. If he reduces power, he wont have to lose any low frequencies.

I know but jeesh..youre gunna put 6 cubes in your car...sealed? might as well port it and have a lot more output.

Also if your shit is bottoming out on ZERO gain...somethings very wrong

my friend has an 18" FI Q on 1500 rms with no options at all and it handles it fine, no bottoming out on like 1/2 - 3/4 gain...

so one with the BP option it should be just about in the same boat as my friend
