Fi Q 18

Remember a lot of these people saying "im running THIS many watts" are probably only running 1/4 of what they claim. Due to many factors.

So a buddy with 1500 watts on a speaker isn't a reliable source of reference.

sorry for 3 posts in a row...

I think it is your head unit (which is stock, no?)...you do not have amped speakers, am i correct?

so you have to turn up your head unit to a level where they can be heard...

this would result in sending a clipped signal (possible) to the amplifier.

Friend had this happen when he had not amped his speakers and we had his amp on ZERO gain and it was pushing the sub to the max, ultimately it led to blowing the moofer (15" RE MX)

I have 12.6 cubes in my navigator but only one sub so far. I am getting it dialed in a litte better. Went back to 4 ohm too. I started to think my signals are shitty. Stock HU (alpine) with a line output convertor. That with a 2000watt amp probably shouldnt mix well. Just bought a pioneer avic-d1 or whatever they are.

Maybe this will help??

Starting to think I shoulda went BTL, but ****, 18 Q's on tarantulas should be amazing really.

I put together his system.

I know what he has.

I know what its doing.

Im not dumb.

EDIT: obviously its not doing exactly 1500 due to rise and shit but come on everyone (should) know that. Its just a point of reference, otherwise no one would be able to compare. derr

I disagree. Prove how his electrical system and install is not hindering his output power and I will believe you.
He has a Kinetik 2400 powering it:p:. Lets pretend rise isnt a factor as thats extremely unpredictable.

So I think you need an aftermarket head unit. Or upgrade your speakers.

Thats all Im going to say before these guys come in here saying IDK what im talking about even though I know what your problem is.

AHAHAHAHAHAH L O L EELLLL OHHHH EELLLL LOL AHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Did you ask him nicely to not call out your ignorance?
what is your problem?

Im curious to what Im ignorant about? I am willing to learn and admit when I am wrong. But you totally missed the point I was making about just being able to compare (obviously its not 100% accurate, but its something that is easily comparable) so theres no point in continuing to respond to you.

But you said to just PORT IT
OK. I resent that. Is that better?

That obviously wouldn't have solved his problem but I DID HOWEVER provide him with what his problem actually was. So can we start on a clean slate? Or are you too immature for that?
