FI Q 12 sealed box?

How would a FI Q 12 sound in a sealed box? has anyone tried this yet?

*EDIT* Also how would it sound compared to the Alpine type X?

I have yet to hear one but I have not heard a single person who has had anything bad to say about the Q. Looking into the 10" myself with a sealed enclosure. I'm not sure if it was sealed or ported but someone just won the world finals with (2) 12" Q's 500watts each. So I'm guessin they sound pretty **** good, lol

think he's talking about sound quality, not loudness. U dont need to get ear numbing loud to sound good.

i looked in the FI forum and couldn't find anything on the 12s, there was a thread on the 15s but it didn't help too much

2.5 cubes gross(for 2), sealed, only 500 watts each. Sounds great and flexs the car pretty good.

can't compare them like I would want to, since when I had the max it was only 1 and in a sealed. But the IDMax was so dynamic and sounded so good, if I had the money to recone it and switch back I probably would. The Q's sound terrific, specially for the price they cost. But the IDMax gave me different low notes that I feel in love with and miss it so. I just need to get together $200 and I can test the IDMax's in the box. I liked the one that i ran in the celica sealed....never heard a type x...no clue what they sound like or how they are

Should sound good sealed. Doesn't need anything overly large, if you want a good mix probly 1.25-1.3cf, if you want more extension I'd say 1.5-1.6cf.

I know if I started a FiQ vs IDmax thread there would be flames the size of Texas on here. Probably hold my family for ransom and shoot my dog too. So I don't dare. Thats a powerful statement about switching back and I'll take that into consideration before I purchase either one. I'm always hearing the big thing about the q's is "for the price" But what if they were both $250 woofers? Sounds liked you like your Max.
