im sayin people pay soo much for JL just for a name so they think just because they pay so much for JL that its the best out there i know people out here in tucson with W0s that think there the best sounding loudest subs out there

It wasn't bragging so much as to say that high dollar "great" subs aren't always that "great". In various forums you always tend to hear guys bragging about JL W7's and cause they spend over a grand on each of them they think these subs will do anything and be louder than anyone else. A pair of 15" MTX 9500's are more for SPL, and although in a higher class with more power than mine, still didn't get as high as my 10" Fi's. That was more like bragging.

I think he said it moreso because of the "JL is god" mindset people tend to have.

I'm sure he realizes that JL's are sq subs (maybe he doesn't). But nontheless, a lot of people do not see this. I recently got in an argument with a few people about which would get louder, a 13w7 or a 15Q. I said Q hand's down, and the reactions were "How would you know? The JL would get louder"

It is probably for that reason that he is saying it.

Anyway. To the OP, if you have any concerns about sound quality at all, don't get an l7. And I agree with the 2 Q's ported on 2500.1. That would be loud as hell in the right box.
