i was just wondering i looked on fi's website and the amount of airspace for these subs are somewhat small so i was wondering if thats all you need to give them ported or do you go bigger

i might consider them considering the room i have

also on xmax is that how much the sub moves in and out and doesnt that mean the more xmax the louder and more air it pushes

You should also consider the 12" Kicker L7s. They would probably win in a loudness contest. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
i think the FI Q would win they handle 250 rms more then the L7s

Depending on what your buying the sub for, you'd be better with the Fi Q's. Are you looking for Sound quality or for SPL? The Q's are a great sub for music, but not as hardcore for winning SPL comps compared to the BL's. And forget the Kicker L7's, they're not as great as people think. I beat a guy last year that was running a pair of 15" L7's with my two 10" Fi BL's. Also smoked a guy running JL 13W7's.

well i plan on putting 2 l7's ported on a kicker 1500.1 but i only have right around 5net and i figured that might be a lil small and with the fi ss

thats the subs i was also considering the fi ss or the re's se

the airspace for the fi's are

Ported box: 1.8-2.5 cuft @ 28-33Hz i thought that was small for such a power and big sub

also would 2 of those ported tuned at 32hz with 5 net be louder than 4 of those sealed in a 5cuft net box consideirng all getting their rated rms power

and the re sx only calls for 1.5-2net per sub ported

i am wanting something for pure loudness would like a clean bass note though not sloppy and muddy

so question is 4 12's sealed or 2 12's ported say if i went with the fi ss

ssd's i was looking at

so basically 4 ssd's sealed on 4k watts in a 5cut ft net box

2 ssd's ported in a 5cu ft net tuned to 33hz on 2k watts

or 2 l7's ported in a 5cuft net box on 1500 watts

want loud but clean

then WHY is it titled Fi q? wtf

and if you want loud and clean id go with either the 4 ssds or 2 qs.

As far as box size, it depends on the sub. My 10" BL's require a lot less space than other brands of 10" subs. Kicker subs require more airspace than anyone else. Normally the smaller the enclosure the more power it handles, the larger the enclosure the less power. But it also depends on what you want to do with the subs. With a larger enclosure you can tune lower to hit the lows in music, with a smaller enclosure you tune higher for playing tones.
