Fi or AQ

very good thread....... It has been very informative for the difference options for setups...I have thought a couple of times of switching to 2 10 bls
check out chevyaudios 10" bl thread.

2 10" bl's off a 20.1 in a chevy single cab truck = 149.1 after some testing. good shit right there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

in chevyaudio's experience, he said the 20.1 does a decent job of powering them but he couldn't reach thermal or mechanical limits of the drivers using that amp. the amp has shown to test out at about 2400 @ .98 ohms (apparent power). obviously they can work off less power, but they still have some left in them according to chevy.

i think the difference between my friends and my setup, as compared to chevy's is that both me and my buddy used, what are generally considered, small boxes for 18's (i used 5.5 and he used 6), while chevy audio seemed to use a more adequate box volume. could be the reason for the difference between the two setups and my opinion about power requirements.

now why would you bother spending 310+ (depending on options) to use temporarily when you could just save up another 100 bucks? and save cash in the end?
Again, it's just an idea. Also I'd be able to run the 2 BL's off of the single amp until I had the funds to pick up another. Just throwing around options.

will do...plus with 2 10s I would actually be able to fit a bigger box than my 15

yes, but you will have more cone area with the 15". you cant make the 15" work right now?

if you're keeping the same power on tap, and just going to go to 2 10's, i would guess you would be loosing output.

well barely......As you can see from my sig the bx I have now isnt even big enough.....I have thought about facing the sub/port into the car.....I wonder how much more/less I would gain

yea, 3 cubes is a little small IMO. i would try to make it bigger and face it to the front. seal it off some and see if you have any improvement. should be TOO much work. and probably cheaper than selling the aq for a loss, and then buying bnib bl's for full retail price.
