Few more questions regarding box build,subs,and pre-fab box

Ok if you have read my previous thread i have a new alpine type-r 1242D and an Alpine MRP-M500 running 500 @ 2ohms...some questions i have

1.) Would it be cheaper to build my own box? or buy one?...box im looking at pre-fab is

12" CUSTOM-PORTED MDF SUB ENCLOSURE BOX 2.0 ft^3 @ 32Hz - eBay (item 200465817501 end time May-27-10 00:31:48 PDT)

2.) What do you feel is the best box for an alpine type-r?..Saw a guy with one 12 inch type R running a 760w amp to it,his own custom box pushing 150db on a termlab (Not sure if it was on this forum but there were pics to prove it)

3.) The box im looking at is $120...I can get 2 kicker compvr's in a ported box for $135...what would you recommend?

Any knowledgeable feedback appreciated

No he built his own box. lol should have clarified that...sorry. i think he said it was 3ft of airspace

its up to you do you have the skill to build your own box?

if not somone should be in miami that would hook you up for around the price of the pre fab.

it dont cost much to build your own.

also highly doubt someone was doing 150 with 700 watts and a single 12 maybe in the port.

I apologize it wasn't a Termlab...i thought he used one...anyway still not bad, yesterday i found pics of the guys actual setup...cant find it today :\
