Ok I not sure if I messed up or not but I still fresh in this cable game. I do have a lot of examples of 0-3 wire from mylows10. So when this box came a few mins ago it kind of shocked me. The cable is southwire Royal excelence....I think I paid $100 for 50 feet. Can someone tell me if its good or should

The bigger wire is 1/0 sky high ofc. I'm hearing skyhigh is more 2/0.

Yup 1/0 welding cable is like 4 gauge car audio cable and 2/0 welding cable is almost 1/0car audio. My 2/0 excelene is thinner than my shca ofc 1/0

my 2/0 welding cable is not as large in diameter as 2/0 car audio wire but it does carry plenty of amperage, the strands are a little thicker so it is not as flexible but not really stiff either, I use it because I weld for a living and it is way cheaper for me to get.

Welding wire is true AWG (American Wire Gauge) size. Car audio wire tends to be oversized and has a higher strand count for increased flexibility. Knukoncepts is comparable to SHA and their oversized 1/0 OFC wire has an ampacity of 375A.

1/0 welding wire is less flexible due to the lower strand count, but because it has to be resilient on the job the jacket tends to be stronger - an added bonus. 1/0 welding wire has an ampacity of 350A up to 50'. It's not quite the 375A that Knu boasts, but at half the price it's a steal.

That Royal Excelene is good stuff and plenty flexible for CA use. I use it myself. We had a discussion about this earlier this year: http://www.caraudio.com/forums/general-discussion/617294-welding-wire-users-tell-me-your-secrets.html

There was some buzz going around a while back that most of these car audio "pure" copper wires were using cheap alloys from China. I can vouch for the Sky High being way bigger than welding cable, but it does not feel the same and my gut tells me that you don't get something for nothing and the prices of some of these super-size Chinese made wire is low for a reason.

Anyway, I use whatever I can get a deal on. I've ordered a few times from Weldingsupply.com and have yet to regret it, and I've used Stinger, Sky High, Knu, and others. At 2$ a foot for 1/0 welding cable you got a good deal, it's worth the money.

Thanks everyone. I was really tripping when I seen this cable. I had to check my order again.. I was about to get the sha cheap wire but I was told to look into cca vs ofc. Which turned me on to welding wire. If it's as good as everyone says then that's what I will stick with. I the single run of fake 1/0 I have now I will use for my high amp. At 50 feet I will will have to buy some more so can get 2 runs....

So I was told that over 3k I should run my ground from the front. I was thinking I could do 2 positive runs and ground in the back with my battery bank....need some advice on this one. I hope I can run a m3b @ 1.

Also I have a mechman 240 alt
