I'm considering selling this h/u, its in excellent condition and still has a little over a year warranty through Crutchfield(this will be hard to match since they don't make these anymore). I don't HAVE to sell this right now so I'm not giving it away, a fellow member sold his on ebay for $350 and this one is in better condition.

If you have any questions, let me know. These are very hard to come by nowadays. Considered by most the last of the great Alpine h/u's, with the 1.5 din sized faceplate and w/o "glidetouch"

those are the only pics I have on hand right now, the unit is uninstalled and my dig. camera is my parents house(where those pics were taken). The h/u is in fantastic shape, no nasty scratches or worn buttons. Not to mention it has the 1+year warranty left through Crutchfield.

I have a 9835. Would buying this be considered an upgrade? Does the KCA-420i ipod adaptor work here?

Well the differences between this and the 9835 mainly would be the 1.5 sized faceplate, and let me tell you its amazing in person. The pics don't do the headunit justice. The h/u has ainet so I am assuming the i-pod adapter would work, but i've never tried it. This headunit will turn more heads than the 9835 if that counts and the faceplate retracts into the unit for security purposes.

what about a 9855?

Is this question directed towards me? If so this unit doesn't have the glidetouch and the other differences would be the same as the 9835
