Sold Feeler: 2 XX Colossus amps, 18" RE MT

5500 Sunrise Highway, Massapequa, NY 11758

call me 631-291-7828 and let me know what time you'll be there and I'll be there.

As for the MT, I haven't used it. It was bought used from an authorized dealer, apparently mine was reconed by Michael Hughes, it's got some excess glue on the surround, not much, and it's missing the gasket. Also has a few scuffs on the surround. From what I was told it got about 15 burps with 2500w on it. The suspension is still stiff.

Don't have a good pic that shows it up close...the sub is in the shop right now. Here's another pic:

It's got some dirt on the surround in that pic...

i'm interested (in the MT) but I have no idea what an MT requires for power... I've got an amp that puts out 1400w rms @ 1 ohm... will that be enough or does it require at least 2000 to get it moving?

You will need to bring more to the table than that. I am going to be running an MT 18 with 6000 watts. They can take extreme amounts of power and smile at you the whole time.

I love people that give advice about product that they are "going to be" using

An RE MT 12" w/quad spiders can get loud with 1200-2kw, but depending on the enclosure, it'll take ALOT more then that - even into full square wave for a short time.

An RE MT 15" w/triple spdiers will do better with the 1.2 - 2kw range. Again, it'll take sq. wave as well.

It doesn't take 5kw to make them loud, unless You are sincerely going to compete in SPL events.
