Fedex FTMFL

I have one its 78 lbs. just looking at that magnet alone says there was next to nothing protecting it. all those punctures in the cone are horrid too, i mean bubble wrap and dowls for a $1k sub.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I say you get into contact with the seller asap

****.

sorry it took so long to respond, I'm in Tahoe right now and internet is a little hard to come by.

I thought the sub was packaged solid. I put a layer of bubble wrap on the top/bottom parts of the wooden enclosure to prevent punctures/the emblem on the bottom getting scratched up, i used 3/4" wooden dowels, bubble wrap around the sub, and then a gank of tape. I hesitate to use packing peanuts anymore because I have had subwoofers shipped to me with packing peanuts in really difficult-to-get-to spots. There wasn't any movement of the crate in the box itself, I built it so it fit the box perfectly and it wouldn't shift around.

I got insurance obviously, so I'm about to call Fedex and file a claim. shit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

like I said, I hesitate to use packing peanuts because getting one of those wedged up in a pole vent or in the spider sometimes involves digging packing peanuts out of sensitive places. The wooden dowels were 3/4" thick and were very solid, screwed in with 2" screws at both ends. I kicked the crate around several times and didn't feel them move at all. Like stated previously as well, there WAS a layer of phat bubble wrap protecting the surround and the magnet. I made sure of that to ensure neither of them would get scratched/punctured. Trust me, I didn't want this sub to get effed up any more than everyone here did. If I had to do it over again I would just use 2X4's, but heinsight is always 20/20.

We'll get this worked out.

Thanks for the concern 90accordman, all the packages I have have shipped through Fedex have been fine in the past, but obviously I learned my lesson. Hopefully we can get this resolved quickly.

Good guy here, we are taking care of this problem as we speak.

i had an amp delivered yesterday that clearly had fragile all over the package and the guy walked up to the door dropped it on the porch and left. didnt ring the doorbell or anything. it was actually a friends dad, and i reported him and he called me this morning apologizing.

Thats not REs packaging. Re packs the subs in thick wooden tubes with a form inside that hugs the sub and a top that is bolted down.
