Fed up with HiFonics

I just blew my hifonics bx1500d exact same thing happened as the original poster has described. I will never buy hifonics again, I had a Boss rev 2000d that ive just torchered and my friend uses it now it still up and kicking. I think i am just going to go out and get a jbl 1200.1 .

I had two hifonics amps. one was a Zues 4 and one was an 11. The 4 never had a problem. The 11 ran good for a while then i killed it. Couldn't figure out why so i contacted there tech support via email. Found out it would only do 1 ohm stable in stereo. Or 4 ohm in mono mode. So certain ohm loads will only work in stereo / mono mode. But again i hooked it up and in 4 months it litterally started to sound like a ground was bad in the amp sub sounded like it was in a tin can. Had it fixed by a local shop and it has worked great ever since. The old Collosos Worked great also but never had the brutus. The only real real drawback i have found for there amps so far is the subsonic filter did not function properly. As in wouldn't produce 25 - 30 hz.

I guess everyone has their own opinion, but I really like Hifonics... I have been using them for well over 10 years.... I currenty have three Hifonics amps that run in my Blazer daily and six more to go in....

Yes I've heard the horror stories. I guess I'm just miffed that it broke so quickly. I'm not new to failing equipment.. if it lasts a year I'd be content, but go with a different brand next time. For the record I never pushed the amp, the hardest stuff I listen to is 311. But mostly it's Rufus Wainwright and news radio.
I'll count my blessings and go with the Tantrum.
Do you really think you need to wire to 1 ohm? Tantrum will put out a nice figure at 4 ohms.

Depends on the amp and sub,,, If you are running a sub with dual 2 Ohm V.C, then yes...

But I see your point, if you can get away with not running so low, don't do it..

Hi guys sorry to whoever may be offended but, hifonics amps are very good and decent for the money, but beware if your buying this brand make sure you buy the zeus series only as those are the high quality series I have used the zx7500,zx4400 and currently messing w/ the new xx generation zeus doing 1600 watts rms d-class amp @ 1 ohm and let me tell you I could not be happier.

just my 2 cents.

Carlos.
